The COALAR 2014-15 Grant Round has now closed and the COALAR Board is considering all Expressions of Interest (EOI) submitted.
Over 100 EOI to the value of over $6million were submitted. The COALAR Board is considering a very competitive grant field for an indicative budget allocation for COALAR grants of $400,000.
EOI selected to move to the next stage - Full Application - are being advised progressively over the next two weeks and will be given sufficient time to provide the additional information required.
Unsuccessful applicants will be advised in writing in the week commencing 14th July. A little later than anticipated but the board wants to give due consideration to all EOIs submitted.

COALAR grants are intended to provide seed funding for innovative proposals relevant to the aims and objectives of the Council. This includes proposals that demonstrate the potential for the development of long-term links between individuals and institutions in Australia and their counterparts in Latin America.
As applications are assessed against the Coalar Grant Funding Guidelines and Coalar Strategic Plan 2011-14, all applicants should familiarise themselves with these documents before submitting an application for funding.
There is a two-stage application process for the 2014-15 Grants Program. The first stage involves applicants submitting an Expression of Interest online. The Council Board then shortlists the successful applicants, who then proceed to the second stage and submit a Full Grant Application.
STEP 1
Review the Application Guidelines and the Council’s Strategic Plan 2011-2014 before commencing.
STEP 2
Submit your Expression of Interest using the online application form accessed through our website on the date the grant round opens.
The online application system will be accessible on the opening date and will close on the closing date at the times indicated. Late Expressions of Interest will not be accepted. We recommend that applicants not wait until the last day to submit their applications.
STEP 3
Successful applicants will be invited to submit a full grant application.
All applicants for COALAR grants will be advised in writing of the outcome of their application. Successful applicants will receive the COALAR funding agreement and will be advised of any additional special conditions of the grant.
