The grant application deadline is strict. For equity reasons, we cannot provide deadline extensions for grant applications in any circumstance. There will be no exceptions.

Please allow sufficient time to complete this application especially the Project Budget section as you need to ensure the proposed budget is balanced (this can take time). 

Please allow sufficient time to gather supporting documents and referee reports - they must be included when you submit this application. Supporting documents or referee reports will not be accepted after the close of applications. 

Incomplete applications will not be considered by the assessment committee.

I confirm that I (the applicant) ...

  • be one of the following:
    • an Australian entity with an Australian Business Number (ABN), Australian Company Number (ACN), or Indigenous Corporation Number (ICN)
    • an Australian consortium with a lead organisation
    • an Australian registered charity or not-for-profit organisation
    • an Australian local government body
    • an Australian State/Territory government body
    • a Corporate Commonwealth Entity
    • an Australian statutory authority
    • an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia
    • a citizen of the Republic of Korea
    • an organisation in the Republic of Korea
  • be located in Australia or the Republic of Korea
  • be aged at least 18 years if you are submitting an application as an individual or if you are the primary contact of the organisation that is submitting an application
  • am able to demonstrate financial viability to deliver this project.
  • not a grantee from a previous Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) grant round who has not provided a full and satisfactory acquittal of an existing project at the time of submitting this application for a new grant
  • have the appropriate type and level of insurance for the activities that are the subject of this grant proposal.
  • am not seeking funding for an activity that is commercially viable in its own right or which gives a commercial advantage to me and/or my organisation.
  • am not undertaking an activity that will be carried out with direct financial or in-kind (such as goods and services) benefit to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
  • will submit Child Protection guidelines that meet the DFAT Child Protection Policy if my grant activity involves children (those under the age of 18 years).
  • seek funding for a project that will commence between 1 September 2026 (and after the grant agreement is signed) and 30 June 2027. Your first planned activity (listed in the activity table below) must commence by 30 June 2027.
