Australia-Japan Foundation Publication Awards

AJF’s Publication Awards support the publication of quality books related to Australian studies in Japan.  These will usually be written in the Japanese language.  Publication Awards are open to Japan-based academics and researchers who wish to publish works in Japan.

Publications should focus on issues of mutual relevance and interest relating to Australia and Japan. The awards are worth up to $10,000 per publication.

In answering the following questions, it is important to remember that applicants for a Publication Award will be selected on the basis of (i) confirmation from your Publisher that your area of research will be suitable for publication by June 2020; (ii) the extent to which this publication will contribute to and strengthen the level of knowledge and understanding of the Australia-Japan relationship; and (iii) the commitment of the author to disseminate and promote the publication widely, effectively and actively through academic and other relevant channels.

Further information can be sought from the AJF Secretariat at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo (ajf.japan@dfat.gov.au).
